Description
Development and application of Powertrain control systems at engine and vehicle levels for the Transonic Combustion process. This advanced, high fuel efficiency, combustion process utilizes gasoline in a high compression ratio engine and requires an Automotive Powertrain Controls and Calibration Engineer Systems Engineer for the development of engine control systems. Specific duties include:
- Translate Powertrain plan requirements into control system designs to achieve program targets
- Develop control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink for SIL and HIL environments
- Design and conduct testing of automotive Powertrain on dynamometer
- Troubleshoot Powertrain system functional and diagnostic issues; determine / validate corrective actions and preventative measures
- Perform post-processing routines and analysis of test data using MATLAB and Excel
- Document controls designs and calibrations performance to verify system meets functional requirements
This position reports to the Vice President Research & Development.
Requirements
The candidate should have a general understanding of automotive SI and /or CI engine systems and subsystems. A BSEE/BSME or related field of study. One to Five years experience in Powertrain Calibration or Controls Systems design. Fluent in MATLAB/Simulink for controls design. Experience with automotive circuits, sensors and actuators.
Desirable attributes:
- Experience with ETAS calibration tools
- Experience in fuel injection technologies
- Automotive communication protocols
